Ventspils

     Every time when I go to Latvia – I open for myself something new. Different new features which impress me. It can be from people till towns. 

         This time I want to tell about one Latvia’s town which situated near the Baltic Sea. I traveled there with my dear sister and we had great day and we were spending time there.

For me it was a first time when I came there. I was travelling with my sister to Ventspils.

   The acquaintance with city I began from this site http://www.ventspils.lv/rus/. Before our traveling I tried to find interesting places where we can go then, also the site helped with hotels and the places where we can eat.

       Out trip began from Riga... 

Oh, Riga is very peaceful in the morning. To tell the truth Riga is peaceful everytime but in that morning it was silent. So, with my sister we decided to wait our bus walking in Riga. We had not much time that’s why we came only in the beginning of old town, bought coffee and started enjoying the time. 

          

         Firstly, we made couple photos and then when we were walking suddenly pack of birds had flight on us. It was so unexpected. But we could to make even not bad photo. 

Then, after while time we went to bus stop, on Latvian – “autoosta” and got on in the bus.

The prize of the ticket from Riga to Ventspils costs – 5.30 lt. and the time of all way was 3 hours. Good and much time for sleep a little and for tourist from another country like me, to see Latvia’s landscapes, buildings, people, roads, and different villages what I did all that time. My sister slept that time, she was in this town before. On my opinion the bus was very comfortable, we had bus stop for 10 minutes during in our way.

When we came we had not a map. We knew only the name of our hotel. We decided to find the hotel before we continue our trip that to leave our bags.  We had to find it. Firstly we tried to find the hotel with our intuition but it did not help. After while time we asked local people about the hotel. When we got there we knew that we came early and we had time. So we took the map which was on the table and went.

First of all we went to the beach. It was the most beautiful view which I saw in my life. It was span less sea…  I began to walk to sea through the clean yellow sand to the beginning of the sea.

When you come close to water there you can feel and see the fog, for me it was unexpected and unbelievable thing. Standing there you do not want to go anywhere else. There was so relax atmosphere…

I want to say couple words about Ventspil’s roads signs for walkers. With them we found right places without problems.

I had a dream to see the light house and when I came to beach I was it. It was far away from us but I said I have to see it closer! My sister and me came there.

You see Ventspils is very famous of his exhibition of cows. When you walk in town you can find the cow everywhere. They are tourist attractions. I think it was good idea for town to attract the people in this way. The cows have different sizes and colors.

We had very good map which also had pictures with places of town and it was easily to find them in town. Also these places were marked on this map. When we saw the place from map, my sister signed out it. In that way we could see what we had to see also.

When we were in old town we found a church. By the way when you come to bus stop, when you stand there you can see this church and when you see it, you have to know that there – the old town.

The church is very beautiful. When we came closer we saw interesting monument. It was a memorial for children who did not born. And near every child you can see the history – which reasons had his mother for did not born him.

The souvenir shops we found on the dock where was also the ship, where only near 1.50 lt you can go on it and see the city from the river. In this way I saw how big this city and also saw so many ships. What impressed me about the ships that on our ship there were so many little children and they were sitting near border of the ship I was nervous about this I thought it is dangerous for them.

Returning on the ground, on the dock you can see the castle. The visiting of it we left this event for morning. Next morning when we came in the castle, one lady – worker met us there and very polite told us about castle, where we can go and what we can see in each room. The castle has good condition as a building and good cognitive exhibition. As for me I like castle and love traveling in it.

I have a tradition for myself when I go to some museum like castle I try to leave in the book of guests my greetings for this history monument. It likes in the same time – my words for you, my emotions and a point that I was there.

I liked my trip to this town. I had positive emotions from the visit.
